Born on a steamy summer night in Portland, OR in 2011, THE GIRAFFE DODGERS came together with the goal to progress the acoustic music we all know and love into a hybrid of bluegrass, funk, jazz and folk. The Giraffe Dodgers focus on instrumental newgrass (a term coined by Sam Bush and Bela Fleck in the Newgrass Revival), the song writing of Ben Larsen, and the instrumental composition of Austin Moore. They also play a range of covers from the likes of Paul Simon to traditional melodies arranged for an electric style band.
