POLECAT W/ DEAD WINTER CARPENTERS & THE CONJUGAL VISITORS @ W.O.W. HALL (EUGENE)

W.O.W. Hall, 291 W 8th Ave, Eugene , OR

POLECAT is one of the most exciting and talented young bands in the US right now, mixing Bluegrass, Country, Celtic, Rock, Funk, World and Reggae together with very hot chops to form their own Americana Stomp-Grass World Music. The core audience of Polecat is, well, everybody. There is a sense of mass appeal attached to Polecat for it's unique take on bluegrass, as well as an acknowledged respect for their honest approach to their genre. Their music celebrates life, love, and good times, and it reflects on the faces of the players and their audience. Joining in on the fun are DEAD WINTER CARPENTERS, a rollicking, high-energy, Americana roots-infused five-piece band. With an unbridled spirit and authentic approach to the art of songwriting, it has been said this five-piece “captures the freedom of the road with the kind of energy that is made of legends”. Defying musical boundaries, DWC seamlessly blends Americana roots-rock and a tinge of straightforward ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ alt. country for hard-hitting performances that are as edgy as they are whimsical. They are also joined by CONJUGAL VISITORS. With their unique mix of mountain dance music, bluegrass, jazz, jug band, and good old rock 'n' roll, watching them perform makes you feel like you've stumbled into a free-wheeling living room jam session party, but the talent and polish soon shine through. These folks are hot musicians and they aren't shy about putting it on display during explosive marathon sets of tightly woven arrangements and jazzy improvisation.
