Parallel 44 Presents' Gypsy Grass Series continues with a very special St Patty's weekend bash. Portland's own FRUITION is here to groove us up some more. Versatility and strong songs have defined the band since it began in 2008, and hundreds of shows later, Fruition now plays to an ever-growing fan-base in more than a dozen states, to electrified audiences and frenzied dance-floors.
Born on a steamy summer night in Portland, OR in 2011, THE GIRAFFE DODGERS came together with the goal to progress the acoustic music we all know and love into a hybrid of bluegrass, funk, jazz and folk. The Giraffe Dodgers focus on innovative instrumental newgrass (a term coined by Sam Bush and Bela Fleck in the Newgrass Revival), the songwriting of Ben Larsen, and the instrumental composition of Austin Moore. They also play a range of covers from the likes of Paul Simon to traditional melodies arranged for an electric style band.
