IDEATEAM & MAXWELL FRIEDMAN TRIO @ MCMENAMINS' HIGH GRAVITY FEST (SAT 1/14)

McMenamins' Old St. Francis School, 700 NW Bond St, Bend, Oregon

It's the Fourth Annual High Gravity Fest at McMenamins' Old St. Francis School and Parallel 44 Presents is bringing the tunes to round out the night starting at 7pm with young Bend local Maxwell Friedman Music followed by California's Ideateam. Come on down and taste all the high-gravity, big, bold ales-and cider while getting your groove on in Father Luke's Room.

About Ideateam:

Ideateam is a 9-piece ensemble driven to fuse together a variety of influences in a fresh way. Consisting of two guitars, bass, drums, percussion, brass section, and a cast of featured vocalists, the group explores the corridors of groove while flipping through styles like a deck of cards, flowing in and around various genres. Their live sound brings essences of old and new, blended with a few drops of extraterrestrial soundscapes - presented by a group of people who simply love to play music. Ideateam’s self produced debut album '&?!' (And What Now) was released in October 2014 and contains original instrumental groove fusion from the core members of the group, featuring guest musicians on several tracks. Ideateam has shared the stage with several festival / tour circuit favorites (Orgone, Polyrhythmics, Kyle Hollingsworth Band) and was honored to open for legends such as Bernard Purdie and The Headhunters. Ideateam's second full-length album 'Moving Still' was released October 2016, along with a fresh batch of new live material and video releases. The group seeks to continue evolving the live music experience they are quickly becoming known for, and further cultivating a positive connection with people through music.

About Maxwell Friedman Trio:

Maxwell Friedman is a 12-year-old jam & funk keyboardist who has been making a name for himself in his hometown of Bend, Oregon. Maxwell has always had an affinity for music. He began playing the piano just three and a half years ago and with his impressive ear and natural understanding of music, he has become a funky force to be reckoned with. This past summer Maxwell took the festival scene by storm, sharing the stage with legendary saxophone player Karl Denson (of the Rolling Stones), as well as sitting in with Michael Franti, ALO, Jellybread, the Quick and Easy Boys and Elektrapod. He was invited to play in the all-star jam at this year’s Bend Roots Revival and often performs under the guidance of local musician and teacher Georges Bouhey. Although his first love is the keyboard, Maxwell aspires to be a multi-instrumentalist and has taken up the harmonica, melodica, keytar and drums. Maxwell's influences include Herbie Hancock, Phish, and Stevie Wonder just to name a few.
